Crocs Away! Strapitz Set to Snap Up Success of Cult Clogs
June 24, 2008 - Press Dispensary - Crocs, the colourful rubber clogs celebrated for their practicality and comfort, have been the shoe success story of recent years, with admirers everywhere from Hollywood to the White House. And now there’s a new way for fans to personalize their favourite footwear with the launch of ‘Strapitz’ (http://www.strapitz.com ) – a range of replacement heel straps that will enable wearers to customise their Crocs and create this summer’s must-have shoes.
Taking inspiration from the popular ‘Jibbitz’ decorations and designed to fit the strap fastenings on the cool clogs, Strapitz are set to be the Crocs accessory craze for 2008. They come in a range of mix and match colours moulded in charm-like designs, from frogs and flowers to tigers, monkeys, angel wings and even a skull and crossbones.
Crocs wearers can create their own individual style simply by removing the original straps from the shoes and replacing them with a pair of bright and stylish Strapitz.
Martin Womersley, director of Strapitz in the UK, says: “Crocs have taken a huge bite out of the casual shoe business and we’re planning to take this footwear phenomenon to the next level; we are already generating a buzz amongst the ever-increasing Crocs fan club.”
Made from a spongy foam resin, Crocs began life as boating shoes before winning a following around the world from devotees who describe their comfort as like walking on air. The makers of Strapitz are keen to capitalise on the explosion in the global popularity of the cult clogs. “Watch this space - the combination of Strapitz and Crocs could create a footwear feeding frenzy!”, says Martin Womersley.
Strapitz are quick and easy to fit: the existing heel strap can be removed by pulling it over the plastic rivets on either side of the shoe, and the Strapitz are then simply stretched over the rivets. They can be worn around the back of the heel or pushed forward over the upper shoe.
Strapitz come in three sizes, and cost £4.99 for two straps, with a £2 postage charge. Customers can place an order on the secure payment page at www.strapitz.com, and the straps are usually dispatched the same day.
