Press Dispensary - September 25, 2006 - The British Association of Anger Management (BAAM -http://www.angermanage.co.uk), a renowned training provider on all aspects of anger and conflict management, is extending its programme of courses nationwide to meet increased demand from 'uncool Britannia'.
BAAM currently provides services in London and the south east, offering individual support, workshops, seminars and bespoke packages from a professional body of consultants and counsellors. Its ongoing programmes will run between 19 September and 9 November, 2006, in Glasgow, Newcastle, Manchester, Birmingham and Bristol. The two day courses feature stress management techniques, coping strategies and how to resolve conflict.
Mike Fisher, BAAM's training director, says: "Anger is a valid, healthy emotion, but if not handled correctly can be dangerous and destructive. Whether expressed forcefully or internalised, mismanaged anger can lead to depression, anxiety, stress, ill health, relationship break down and loss."
The new BAAM courses focus on learning how to express feelings, including anger, constructively. The programme aims to help people feel happier, increase the joy in their lives and understand how to move towards healing. Delegates are taught how to gain a fresh perspective of themselves and their lives and are encouraged to work towards personal and fulfilling goals.
Mike Fisher adds: “From the amount of calls, emails and website visits we receive, BAAM recognises that anger is not only on the increase but could be reaching pandemic levels. Our courses are designed for anyone who is experiencing anger and stress related problems, either at home or work, and is ready to tackle their issues within a specialist environment."
