Advertising software specialist receives $2 million equity funding

April 06, 2004, Press Dispensary. Trafficmac, a leading provider of advertising operations software,
technology, and outsourcing services, is consolidating its growth in
European and US markets with equity funding and the appointment of a new
CEO. The company has received $2 million investment from Aardvark Capital, a
private equity firm based in New Canaan, Connecticut; and Vaux les Ventures
LLC, a personal fund that co-invests in growth-stage ventures alongside
other 'business angels'.

Under the deal, Mike Leo, co-founder of independent US advertising agency,
AvenueA, becomes CEO of Trafficmac, taking on responsibility for day-to-day
management. He will also be growing the customer base for Trafficmac's
flagship software product, Queue Management System (QMS). The
subscription-based software automates the entire advertising operations
process, from the creation of orders to trafficking, campaign optimisation,
and billing.

Leo comments: 42Until now, advertising processes have been managed through
paper, fax, and e-mail communications, with little accountability within a
system that's prone to inefficiencies and mistakes. Trafficmac's technology
makes the process straightforward to implement and track, and can be
tailored for online and traditional media customers, who rapidly gain
increased revenue through greater efficiency and ad optimisation. We look
forward to further communicating the benefits of QMS to an already receptive

The funds will drive Trafficmac's continuing investment in software research
and development, besides underwriting an aggressive business development
programme that targets traditional and online media companies in the US,
Europe and Asia.

Trafficmac's existing customer base encompasses prominent media
organisations, including The Wall Street Journal, Forbes, The Economist, Fox
Sports, Fox News, USA Cable, MSN International, Digitas, Viacom Brand
Solutions, BSkyB (News Corp), PhD Media, Mindshare mOne, Mediaedge:CIA
(Outrider), and Mediacom.

Andrew Fawcett-Wolf, international managing director of Trafficmac,
comments: 42Major media organisations need performance and control in their
advertising operations, besides return on their investment. QMS provides
better management, visibility, and cost control in advertising operations
than traditional systems could possibly hope to achieve. The end result is
customers who are happy that QMS has taken most of the challenges out of
what has traditionally been a challenging process!42
