Health and Safety Needs are Satisfied with Eclipse-fm® 2009
Asckey Data Services Ltd releases the latest version of its asset and facilities management system
Asckey Data Services Ltd, a software company specialising in the health sector, is unleashing the latest version of Eclipse-fm® - a complete estates asset and facilities management system based on more than 15 years experience in creating facilities management software for the NHS, and with significant input from NHS personnel.
This new version of Eclipse-fm® has been expanded to cover the special needs of electrical and bio mechanical equipment (EBME) maintenance: hardware that must be maintained to the highest standards, and where proof of proper maintenance might be required in future. In line with EBME reporting requirements, a 'Critical Safety Notices' management system has been added to the software.
Chris Hibbert, marketing manager, Asckey Data Services, comments: "Major changes since early 2008 to legislation surrounding corporate manslaughter and health and safety make it vital to keep an accurate audit trail of service and maintenance work carried out on critical systems and equipment. Auditable proof of performance is becoming an area of major concern for NHS estates departments and the ability of Eclipse-fm® to maintain long-term detailed records of all critical operations in maintenance and purchasing is a key feature of the system. Eclipse-fm® 2009 contributes to excellence in managing maintenance and, in turn, to patient safety."
Eclipse-fm® 2009 also supports the increasing number of NHS Trusts operating across multiple sites. Thanks to detailed user profiling, operational staff can only see data referring to their own site, trust management division, or equipment speciality such as EBME equipment - or any combination of these. Meanwhile, management staff can view and analyse full trust data for high level strategic management purposes.
Eclipse-fm® 2009 has a revised 'Purchase Orders and Requisitions' system that centralises all aspects of the process. As a result, the raising of requisitions and orders from inception to completion is much simpler to understand and carry out.
Chris concludes: "While deriving many of its features from the specific needs of the NHS, Eclipse-fm® 2009 is a comprehensive facilities and asset management system that is particularly appropriate where the highest standards of maintenance need to be proved long-term."
