Boris Bikers Offered Showers by H2 Bike Run
Recently opened commuter and fitness club in the West End to provide showers for Boris Bikers at £2.50 a time
June 07, 2011, London. Press Dispensary. H2 Bike Run, the newly opened commuter club in the heart of the West End, provides a much needed facility for cyclist and runner commuters in the West End. Services include bike parking and servicing and luxury changing facilities, along with a gym and Spinning® studio. The club is well located close to Carnaby Street, on Dufours Place, with the Broadwick Street Bike Docking Station literally round the corner.
H2 has identified a demand for Boris Bike users who may have got a little sweaty after a cycle and want to freshen up, so from today the club is offering shower facilities for as little as £2.50 a go. To promote the new service, and due to unavailability of Boris himself, H2 staff brought their own Boris down to the club for a fun photoshoot and tour.
The club design focuses on providing luxury, spacious shower and changing areas and will provide the Boris Bikers with a towel, locker access and, of course, shampoo and conditioner.
Founder Piers Slater commented:
"To ensure we don't upset our peak customers, the offer is only available from 11am each day and all day Saturdays. People can just turn up at the club and our Crew will look after them."

Notes for editors
Huge detail has gone into the design of H2 Soho with no expense or thought spared to ensure they have provided the complete commuter and health and fitness solution. The Core Conditioning Zone (multi-gym) provides a range of equipment including TRX Bands, the “War Machine”, punch-bags, kettle bells, stretch mats and much more providing all the diversity of a gym. Members can run/cycle outside and core train in the gym, at H2 Bike Run the treadmills have been left the treadmills in the London parks where they belong. Lomax PT are providing personal training in conjunction with H2.
H2 has collaborated with international master trainers Sarah and Sandro Morelli and the Spinning® Program to create H2 Ride. The studio is fitted out and designed to the highest quality providing Central London’s first Official Spinning® studio. Complete with 33 Star Trac Spinner NXT bikes and an audio visual set up for specialist classes, master classes and racing events, including special guest sessions the studio is quite unique. H2 focus on structured rides suitable for beginners and experienced SPIN® enthusiasts with instructors hand picked by the Morellis.
To compliment the bike park, H2 have an on site cycle service centre and providing a team of professional on-site mechanics offering a full bike repair and maintenance service so members can drop their bike off in the morning and pick it up on the way home. The club also provides a retail area for cyclists and runners stocking branded cycling accessories and apparel.
provide various services including osteopathy, physiotherapy, acupuncture, podiatry and sports massage. A free health check will allow H2 to tailor a health and fitness solution for the member.
H2 focus on service, hospitality and convenience for members with other services including dry cleaning and laundry service (with 24 hour turnaround), permanent towel and locker hire. Slater added, “Our members are here to take what they need of our services in their busy lifestyle, any hard selling is not allowed, our aim to make H2 an oasis within their day.”
H2 is scheduling a second club in London Wall to open in late 2011, with a third site agreed in the Holborn area. H2 appeals equally to individuals and to organisations wishing to provide such facilities for their personnel.
H2 Clubs and Cycle to Work
The development of H2’s first club is supported by the infrastructure created by Transport for London (Tfl) including 12 super cycle highways. TfL are working towards the target of a 400% increase in cycling in London by 2025.
H2 as an Employee Benefit
Ideal for commuters that cycle or run into central London daily, the H2 members can park up, shower up, then walk a short distance to work. H2 is signing corporate blue chips who have confirmed that lack of cycle provision, such as bike storage, shower and changing facilities, is the single biggest barrier to their staff cycling or running to work. The H2 team are running free health checks throughout London for Corporate client’s and individuals to provide the complete solution.
Customers of H2 are in direct dialogue with Her Majesties Revenue & Customs regarding setting off the cost of membership against Corporation Tax on the same basis as if a company built and operated their own shower and bike park facility. Slater stated, “this will provide a level playing field for clients who cannot provide the facilities due to lack of space, resources or capital with those that provide this service in house already”.
For companies that offer H2 membership as an employee benefit, the advantages are numerous. As well as saving money and the environment, cycling to work energises and de-stresses employees, and improves their overall health which, in turn, can lead to less absenteeism and higher productivity. By cycling or running to work, commuters can avoid the hassle of over-crowded public transport, save significant travel time and costs, enjoy the sights of London en route to work, know that they’re getting fit and helping the planet, arriving at work as fresh as a daisy after using H2’s facilities.
