Yorkshire and Lancashire Homeowners To Get Free Solar Panels
As well as helping householders to reduce their carbon footprint and save on electricity bills, the scheme is expected to create more than 50 new jobs in the Castleford and Blackburn regions.
Viscount Solar’s Managing Director, Graham Davies, commented: "So many people see the benefits of solar panels and would like to install them but are put off by the traditionally prohibitive cost. We are now able to offer panels, including all hardware and installation costs, completely free to homeowners and businesses as a result of the government’s Feed in Tariff scheme (FIT)."
The FIT scheme is revolutionising solar panel uptake in the UK by making the panels pay for themselves: it provides an income for electricity generated and additional income for any electricity fed into the national grid. Since April 2010 there have been more than 80,000 approved solar installations across the UK* and the new Viscount Solar scheme will add thousands more.
"The Viscount Solar scheme is very simple," continues Graham Davies. "We shoulder the costs of installing the panels and don’t charge the customer a penny. We then recoup our outlay from the FIT income while our customers slash their electricity bills and cut their carbon footprint."
As an approved installer for many local authorities and utility companies, Viscount Solar has excellent credentials and more than 20 years' experience in providing energy saving installations for properties throughout the UK.
Graham concludes: "We have spent a long time carefully researching the market and fine tuning our installation processes in readiness for this expansion. Now, everything’s in place to launch this fantastic new scheme, offering free solar panels throughout the region and giving customers the chance to cut their electricity bills significantly."
