Voipfone wins top industry award at 2012 ISPAs
July 09, 2012, Press Dispensary. Voipfone has landed the UK's greatest industry accolade for a provider of VoIP services. At the 14th ISPAs (ISPA Awards) held in London this week, Voipfone was awarded 'Best internet telephony'.
In making the award, the judges stated that "iNet Telecom’s (Voipfone) easy set-up and growth through recommendation alone without a sales team made them worthy winners".
The ISPAs – more correctly called the UK Internet industry awards – are widely regarded as the crowning awards within the UK's internet industry, being presented only after rigorous testing and an independent judging process, and in the gift of the UK’s leading trade body. For Voipfone, the 'Best internet telephony' award takes pride of place in an increasingly crowded trophy cabinet, following on swiftly from the company's 'Best Business Award', bestowed in March for the third year running by ITSPA (the Internet Telephone Service Provider's Association).
ISPA Secretary General Nicholas Lansman said: "It's been another important and fast-moving 12 months for the internet industry, and the Awards are a good measure of achievement and innovation in the past year".
Colin Duffy, CEO of iNet Telecoms, the parent company of Voipfone, said: "To win the industry's two biggest awards in less than four months establishes Voipfone without question as the UK's leading VoIP provider. It's a fitting tribute to our engineers and support staff, who do such a great job designing, building and keeping the service running for our customers."
He continued: "We'd also like to say a big thanks to our customers, who are so happy to keep on recommending us that we don’t even need a sales team. Instead we reach out to more and more VoIP customers, year after year, relying purely on our reputation. Our gratitude goes to the ISPA testers and judges who have recognised this."
The 2012 ISPAs were held at the Park Lane Sheraton Hotel, London, on July 3. The black tie ceremony was compered by comedian John Moloney and the evening kicked off with opening addresses from Dr Peter Cochrane, an entrepreneur and futurist, and Tom Scott, a tech TV presenter.
