Fabulous BBQ adds real fire 'Asado' to its World BBQ collection

May 10, 2017, LONDON, UK. Press Dispensary. Fabulous BBQ (http://www.fabulousbbq.co.uk), the UK's leading premium barbecue caterer, promises a sizzling Summer with the addition of the Argentinian 'Real Fire' Asado to its line-up for corporate and private events.

On 18 May, 2017, Fabulous is introducing the Asado at a launch event taking place at Coin Street Community Builders, Green Space, on London's Southbank, 12:00-19:00. The event will be attended by professionals involved in events and hospitality, and journalists.

As well as Fabulous demonstrating the Asado, the "festival feel" launch event will also feature foods cooked on a range of other machines already in the Fabulous world BBQ collection including Brazilian 'churrasco' and Cypriot rotisseries, Caribbean jerk and offset American smokers, spit roasts and the 'La Caja' China BBQ roast box, as well as Green Machines for vegetarians and vegans, and traditional BBQs.  

Pete Phillips, Fabulous Head Barbecuer, says: "Real fire cooking techniques look set to be the natural progression from the current trend of rotisserie. The Fabulous BBQ team has been championing rotisserie for the last seven years and we are ahead of the game once again. The Asado is an important addition to our already extensive world BBQ collection and means Fabulous can now offer so much more than a traditional, smoker or rotisserie BBQ. It will appear at corporate events from summer 2017 onwards and give our clients a new and exciting taste experience."

The Argentinian Asado BBQ was first developed when the inhabitants of Argentina's Río de la Plata region developed a fondness for beef, especially 'asado', which means "roasted" in Spanish. Huge herds of wild cattle roamed the pampa region until the mid-19th century and were prime fodder for the BBQ. The meat, which can also be a whole lamb, is skewered on a metal frame (asador) and is roasted by placing it next to a slow-burning fire.

With this type of BBQ, cooking can be carried out in two ways. The first method is 'al asador', where a fire is made and is surrounded by metal crosses ('asadores') bearing the carcass of a whole animal opened to receive heat from the flames. The second is 'a la parrilla', where a fire is made and a grill holding the meat is placed over the charcoal.

Curated by Fabulous Director, Helen McCourty, the May 18 launch event will also feature a range of other leading events suppliers that compliment the Fabulous BBQ services, to include Igloo Disco (as seen on Dragons Den) and Shocka's Coconut Hub, serving fresh coconut water and "Shocktails".  

The event is invitation-only and is for industry professionals involved in events and hospitality, as well as food and lifestyle journalists and bloggers.  Attendees must complete the RSVP to gain entry (http://fabulousbbqparty.app.rsvpify.com).

The showcase will have an official photographer, who can provide print-quality images after the event. However, writers are welcome to bring their own photographers, if required. Fabulous BBQ has an archive of photos taken at previous events - images are available on request.

Head Barbecuer, Pete Phillips, was creator of MPW, Marco Pierre White's outside catering company, and has worked alongside industry greats including Lucy Gemmel, founder of Rhubarb. Fabulous BBQ supports British farming and only uses local, East Anglian meat suppliers who meet the highest standards in animal welfare.  For those who prefer not to eat meat, Fabulous BBQ operates Green Machines dedicated to cooking dishes for vegetarian and vegan event guests. These are all complimented by healthy salads and side dishes. All salads and vegetables are sourced locally, wherever possible, and Fabulous employs an artisan baker to provide fresh breads and pastries.

It also uses British grown gourmet BBQ charcoal from The Oxford Charcoal Company as well as eco-friendly and bio degradable plates and cutlery.
