Asckey Data Services Ltd Appointed as Sole Eclipse-fm(R) Facilities Management System Developer

2006-03-29

March 29, 2006, Press Dispensary. Asckey Data Services Ltd (http://www.asckey.com), a software developer for the public sector, announces it has won a five year contract from the Healthcare Facilities Consortium (HFC) (http://www.hfc.org.uk), owned by the NHS Consortium. Asckey has been appointed as partner for the proven Eclipse-fm(R) facilities management and helpdesk system, widely used in NHS Trust hospitals.

The popular Windows and web based Eclipse-fm(R) system has been developed on behalf of the NHS Confederation for the special needs of facilities management in the NHS. Under the contract, Asckey Data Services will be developing the software further.

Hospital equipment needs meticulous maintenance and long term proof that work has been carried out to the required standards by qualified staff. Eclipse-fm(R) has been designed in conjunction with experienced NHS facilities managers to provide long term audit and traceability, while making best practice standards the norm.

Martin Pincott, technical director of Asckey Data Services Ltd, comments: "Our NHS users have helped us develop a facilities management system that is especially relevant to today's health and safety-conscious world. With the stability this new five year contact affords, we intend to take Eclipse-fm(R) into many more NHS hospitals and other organisations that need to manage their equipment long term in a fully provable manner."

Keith Sammonds, operations director at the HFC, says: "Following our recent tender exercise, the HFC appointed Asckey Data Services as its software partner for Eclipse-fm(R). Asckey's presence as an NHS Net approved contractor brings a valuable additional resource to NHS facilities management."

The Eclipse-fm(R) facilities management software, while used predominantly in NHS Trusts, is ideally suited to any environment where there's a need to maintain buildings and equipment with a clear audit trail.
