Summer's Best Kept Festival Secret Goes on Sale
Lost Weekend, Friday 23 – Sunday 25 June, Exeter, Devon - tickets released 24 May
Lost Vagueness, the purveyor of provocative glamour and eccentric entertainment, is filling the gap left by Glastonbury with its own festival - the Lost Weekend, taking place near Exeter, Devon, on Friday 23 to Sunday 25 June, 2006.
Festival-goers who want to attend the three-day spectacular are advised to be quick off the mark as tickets go on sale at 9am on Wednesday 24 May via the 24 hour hotline, 0871 230 9855, or online at www.lostweekend.org. The cost is £90 for weekend passes and £45 for day tickets.
Remaining the 'best kept secret' of summer 06 until now, the Lost Weekend takes place at Powderham Castle - the impressive home of the Earl and Countess of Devon - and promises to bring 10,000 fans an unrivalled line up of burlesque entertaiment. Confirmed headline acts so far include the Zutons, Julian Cope and the New York Dolls, plus a counter cultural contingent of LV acts, performers and characters who create a surreal Vague world.
Other attractions include the Lost Vagueness Ballroom - a 3,000 capacity big top, with dressed up decadence, live music, cocktails and cabaret; the 50’s style American Diner; the Chapel, complete with sexy nuns and almost-legal marriage ceremonies; a VIP piano bar; the inimitable Slip Disco, with flashing dance floor and guest DJs; and the Casino, with strict dress code, champagne, burlesque and comedy cabaret.
The event will also feature market stalls, green crafts, English teas, an open air theatre stage, fun fair and the famous Lost Vagueness Carnival Midway. Guests can expect the unexpected round every other corner, making Lost Vagueness the eccentric experience festival-goers know and love.
The Lost Weekend is a family event. The site will be child-friendly with a full kids’ area, kids’ activities and kids' entertainment. And, in a complete break with the usual festival experience, there will even be flushing toilets!
