November 07, 2013, Bishop's Stortford, Hertfordshire. Press Dispensary. The cards are coming up trumps this weekend for Chip & PIN Solutions, the Hertfordshire-based national provider of card payments. On Sunday afternoon, Bishop's Stortford FC will, for the first time ever, be televised live in a home game on ITV1, thanks to its accession to the first round of the FA Cup. And this means that, as the club's sponsor, Chip & PIN Solutions will suddenly find itself treading to the hallowed turf of national premium TV sports coverage hoping for a giant killing.

Bishops Stortford FC – known locally as The Blues – are set to play League Two side Northampton Town at home on Sunday November 10th, 2013 – and Chip & PIN management and staff will be there in the sell-out audience to support their local team.

"Sunday is a fabulous, high profile opportunity, not just for the Blues but also for Chip & PIN Solutions," says the company's managing director David Maisey. "We've been sponsoring the club for the last two years because, as we've found nationwide success, we wanted to put something back into the local community and the club we support.

"And now, as Bishop's Stortford FC strides proudly onto the nation's TV screens, it will be giving us the priceless dividend of nationwide TV coverage for the Chip & PIN Solutions brand, alongside such international consumer names such as Budweiser. We didn't bank on this when we decided to support the club but it shows how valuable sponsorship can turn out to be."

The Chip & PIN Solutions name and logo will be unmistakeable around the ground and across the back of every team player, for each of their TV close-ups, drawing in a new audience of businesses, large and small, that might be interested in taking card payments for their sales and in joining the company's other premier league customers such as The AA, WeightWatchers and Virgin Trains.

The logo will also be emblazoned on memorabilia carried by fans like Jonathan Braddick, Chip & PIN Solutions employee, Blues season ticket holder and lifelong supporter, who enthuses: "I'm really buzzing for it. It's the biggest game we've ever had, certainly in my lifetime. It's really exciting to see the adverts go out on ITV and it'll be even more exciting to see the game go out."

Braddick has definite views about the match prospects: "I think it'll be quite a close one. Obviously they're a couple of divisions above us but they're not doing so well and we're on form. We can get the win. This is the best I've seen Stortford play in a long time. I'll be quietly confident."

MD David Maisey carries a similar confidence, not just for the match result but for the wider benefits. "Whatever the score, this is a win for the whole of Bishop's Stortford. The TV rights will bring in a five figure sum and an audience for the club, while the event itself has the town buzzing. It creates an exciting 'can do' atmosphere, and that has to be good for many businesses.

"And of course the club's appearance is a business opportunity not to be missed. With our name emblazoned across the club shirt, you might say it's a magnetic strip for Chip & PIN Solutions."

Kick off is at 2pm on Sunday November 10th. Entrance to the ground is by ticket only.
