February 04, 2019, Orgiva, Spain. Press Dispensary. Artists’ Network Alpujarra ( ANA - ( ), an evolving art collective based in La Alpujarra area of Andalucia, southern Spain, is preparing a cultural event for springtime. Entitled 'The Colour of Dreaming' / 'El Color de los Sueños', the colourful spring exhibition will take place at the Jardin Nazari, Velez de Benaudalla, from 22 February until 24 March, 2019. The launch event, featuring music and refreshments, is on Friday 22 February from 7pm.

Curated by Orgiva-based artists, Maxine Friday and Klaus Schumacher, the exhibition will feature a diverse range of works from local talents. One exhibiting artist is Nicholas Fudge, a peer of Damien Hirst and Michael Landy. Mediums include painting, sculpture, photography and installations.

Curator Maxine Friday comments: "ANA is going from strength to strength, creating powerful works and attracting an increasing number of member artists to participate in our movement. Our remit is to promote art and culture in our local area. We recently enjoyed a great success with our 'Hot Winter Show', that took place in the market town of Orgiva and was well-received by the many visitors who attended. Our spring exhibition will build on that success. During this event, our diverse artists will brighten up the enchanted, historic Nazari gardens with their works."

Following the launch event, opening hours are Monday to Saturday 11am to 1pm and 4-6pm and Sunday 11am to 1pm.

Notes for editors
Artists Network Alpujarra (ANA) is a collective of visual artists based in La Alpujarra region of Andalucia, Spain. Founded in 2015, the group initially comprised a small number of artists who wanted to collaborate and raise cultural awareness of contemporary art in their local area. It has since expanded in terms of reputation and numbers, and currently has around 50 members. The group holds a weekly networking event in the market town of Orgiva, where members meet to discuss art, inspire each other and relax in an informal setting. The more experienced artists aim to encourage the newer members along their journey. Since its launch, ANA has staged approximately 10 exhibitions and also runs workshops and tuition groups. Chaired by Emma Plunkett, a Velez de Benaudalla-based artist, the group is run by a seven-strong committee.
